Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

1. Single Purpose

The Liveable Chrome extension adds Liveable scores to property listings on Rightmove, so you can quickly assess properties while browsing.

2. Where the Extension Runs

The extension runs only on pages matching https://www.rightmove.co.uk/*. It does not run on other websites you visit.

The extension observes Rightmove listing page data and Rightmove listing-page network responses solely to identify visible property listings and their coordinates. It does not modify Rightmove requests or responses.

3. Data the Extension Processes

When you visit a supported Rightmove search-results or listing page, the extension may read the following listing information from the page:

• Property identifiers, such as Rightmove listing IDs
• Display addresses, postcodes, outcodes, and incodes where present on the listing
• Property coordinates, including latitude and longitude
• Visible listing details such as price, bedrooms, property type, transaction type, and listing update information

Most listing information is processed locally in your browser to match scores to the correct visible listing cards. The extension sends only property coordinates to Liveable's scoring API.

The extension does not read your passwords, cookies, payment information, private messages, form input, or browsing content outside the Rightmove listing data needed to provide the scoring feature.

4. Browser Storage

The extension does not use cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, or Chrome extension storage. No data is persisted in the browser between page visits by the extension.

5. How the Extension Uses Data

Coordinates for currently visible properties are sent over HTTPS to Liveable's scoring API at https://public.liveable.co.uk/api/scores. The API uses Liveable's Cloudflare Worker and Neon Postgres database service to look up and return Liveable scores for each coordinate.

The extension uses the response only to render the score panels shown on Rightmove pages.

6. Links to Liveable

If you click a Liveable score panel, the extension opens the Liveable map with the relevant latitude, longitude, area identifier, and campaign parameters in the URL. Your use of the Liveable website is then covered by the Liveable website Privacy Policy.

7. Data Sharing

Extension data is processed by Liveable's own scoring API and its infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare for hosting and request handling and Neon for the database lookup. No extension data is shared with advertising platforms, data brokers, or other third parties for their own purposes.

• We do not sell extension user data.
• We do not use extension user data for personalised advertising.
• We do not transfer extension user data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or other information resellers.

8. Data Retention

Coordinates sent to the scoring API are processed to compute scores. They are passed to Neon as parameterized query inputs for the lookup and are not inserted into a database table by the extension API. Liveable does not retain an application-level record of which coordinates the extension has queried.

Standard infrastructure access logs provided by Cloudflare may record request metadata such as request URL, source IP address, and timestamp for security and operational purposes. These logs do not include the request body containing the coordinates and are subject to Cloudflare's standard retention practices.

9. Limited Use of Data

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• We use extension data only to provide or improve the liveability scoring feature described above.
• We do not sell extension data.
• We do not use extension data for personalised, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.
• We do not use extension data to train AI or machine-learning models.
• Humans do not access extension data except where required for security, to comply with applicable law, or with your explicit consent.

10. Security

All communication between the extension and the Liveable scoring API uses HTTPS with TLS. The extension does not load or execute remote code; the scoring API returns JSON data only.

11. Your Rights

If you are in the UK or EU, you have rights under data protection law, including rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be reflected in privacy information bundled with new versions of the extension where appropriate.
